Chapter 55.3: Plot, Entrap
She knew the Emperor was still coveting the Tiger Talisman her grandfather had given her vivaciously and she would have to be sick in the mind to go gallivanting around the Imperial Palace for no reason, to give the Emperor a chance to find trouble with her.
Long Moshen stared at her for another moment, before he then slowly turned around to leave.
After the Imperial Uncle left, Mu Wushuang found that the enormous banquet hall immediately became much more lively, and people were speaking a lot louder.
“Ahhh~”
In that instant, a shrill scream suddenly rang out behind her. Mu Wushuang turned around and saw a palace maid carrying some wine trip, while everything she was holding together with her person was falling straight towards her.
She moved as quickly as a ghostly wraith and in a flash, she was already standing behind the palace maid, as she saw the palace maid missing her completely.
However, she had not expected that another palace maid beside her would suddenly come to fall right onto her, the flask of wine spilling all over her, getting her hair all wet.
Avoided the first, but she was unable to dodge the second one.
Mu Wushuang’s gaze turned frigid. She would really like to see just what these two palace maids were really up to!
“Eek! Young Miss, I’m sorry. This lowly servant accidentally tripped and it was completely unintentional!”
The palace maid immediately fell to her knees and apologized frantically, tears flowing down her face from fright. Those who did not see what happened were thinking why Mu Wushuang was bullying the palace maid.
“Isn’t just a dress that got wet? Can’t she just go change into another one?”
“That’s right, don’t make things difficult for a mere palace maid!”
Watching the wretched sight that Mu Wushuang had become, someone sniggered inwardly and then called out loudly.
“Her Majesty the Empress has arrived!”
“Respects to Her Majesty the Empress, wishing Her Majesty good health and great peace of mind!”
The Emperor seemed to be about forty years of age, and had maintained herself very well. Her eyes were aflame as she said in an imposing voice: “What happened? Why is there such a ruckus here in the great hall?”
“Reporting to Her Majesty, your lowly servant accidentally wet this Young Miss’ dress.”
The palace maid said warily as she remained kneeling on the floor.
“And this Empress was wondering what had happened. If it’s just getting a dress wet, then just change out of it! Miao Si, bring this Young Miss to go change out of her dress.” The Empress commanded.
“Yes, Your Majesty.”
The palace maid named Miao Si standing behind the Empress stepped forward, and then said to Mu Wushuang: “Young Miss, this way please!”
An indiscernible smile hung at the corners of Mu Wushuang’s lips as she slowly followed Miao Si out.
Miao Si did not say a word the entire way there, her footsteps fast as she walked in front. When they were passing the Imperial Garden, the palace maid went hastily around a series of twisty and windy bends, disappearing from sight after a short while.
Mu Wushuang scoffed, laughing coldly to herself. For a palace maid, her cultivation wasn’t too shabby.
“Are you a palace maid? Can you help me pick that jade pendant up from the ground?”
All of a sudden, a gentle voice sounded from the treetop above her head.
Mu Wushuang raised her head to look, and saw that it was a suave looking guy, stylishly clad in a white robe with a ruby jade crown on his head, blending very well among the red plum blossoms and the snowy backdrop behind him.
