Chapter 5 : “Slaughter the Leap of Leopards, Save the Snow Wolf”

 

Duanmu Xi’s hand held onto the dagger and swiftly rushed out like a cheetah, her steps were quick like lightning, as she blasted out like a torrential wind towards that leap of leopards. The moment her dagger landed, one scorpion tailed leopard was immediately killed.

Seeing that their companion had died, it had evoked the rage of the entire leap as they all rushed towards her with menace.

“Mistress, be careful.”

“Small matter.”

There was no tension nor any fear in her voice. Duanmu Xi looked at the scorpion tailed leopards that were approaching her from all directions and smiled faintly before she leapt up lightly.

Hearing only ‘thud’, ‘thud’, ‘thud’, the leap of scorpion tailed leopards had fallen into disarray and the entire scene was chaotic.

She looked at the messy scene that ensued and her violet eyes sparkled with a smile.

Her foot gently landed on one scorpion tailed leopard’s head, with a silver flash, the companion on the opposite side of this scorpion tailed leopard crumbled to the ground lifelessly.

Looking at the body of its companion, the scorpion tailed leopard under her saw red and immediately raised its huge tail and tried to swat her off its back.

“Mistress, watch out for its tail!”

Little Shadow was watching by the side warned her anxiously.

A trace of tension flashed by the Snow Wolf’s amber eyes. It was unbelievable, in just a short day, he had actually cared about the life and death of this little girl.

Duanmu Xi leapt up, evaded its poisonous tail, and she deftly bent over and inserted the dagger into its head before it could attack once more.

Blood sprayed and its brains spilled out. The sun shone onto the bloodstained little face of Duanmu Xi and there was a different kind of beauty, one that was dark yet enchanting.

When he saw the small little human that was fighting before him, a glint flashed by the Snow Wolf’s eyes.

She obviously had no trace of profound spirit energy yet she had rushed forward to save him. She had on an indifferent expression but she was willing to get into such a bloody battle for a spirit beast whom she does not know.

No one has ever protected him like this, at this moment, his heart was full of emotions that he did not understand.

Under the Duanmu Xi’s relentless attacks, the dead bodies of the scorpion tailed leopards soon piled up on the ground. As the scorpion tailed leopards were continuously being slain, the surrounding air became stifled with the stench of blood.

There was a moment that the roars and sorrowful wails had mingled. Duanmu Xi held the dagger in hand that was drenched in blood, as she knitted her brows together. She found her body had reached its limits.

She stared at the few remaining scorpion tailed leopards before her and said in a cold voice,”Hurry up and scram.”

The scorpion tailed leopards looked at the lifeless bodies of their companions and looked back at the bloodied dagger in her hand, they then turned and ran.

Seeing that the scorpion tailed leopards had finally disappeared without a trace, she turned and walked towards that injured Snow Wolf. She knelt down to check on its injuries and found that it was not injured that badly. No vitals were injured and it only had some superficial skin injuries.

“Go on now.”

Her voice was faint and not a trace of emotion could be heard.

The Snow Wolf took a look at her before it turned and disappeared into the night.
