Chapter 8.1: Apologies. You’re Also Trash As Well Now

Up on a ten thousand year old snow mountain, inside the King Wolf Palace.

A golden robed old man with both his beard and hair a snowy white was seated with his legs crossed, his eyes closed in meditation as he cultivated.

Suddenly, his eyes flashed wide open, his face an expression of terror and he then disappeared from his spot with a flick of his sleeves.

“Mo Er.”

The golden robed old man appeared suddenly before the Snow Wolf, his hands trembling as he lifted the Snow Wolf who was not moving in the slightest.

The Snow Wolf looked at the golden robed old man whose face was filled with anxiety, and the Snow Wolf’s eyes flashed with a glint of remorse.

Hearing the faint sounds of a human voice, Duanmu Xi immediately took wide strides to come running over to the Snow Wolf.

But before she could even get close, a white beam of light flashed past right before her eyes.

[Is that the Snow Wolf?]

She seemed to have seen that Snow Wolf.

At that moment, the Water Qilin was slowly stirring awake, and it shook its head groggily.

[What happened just now? He seemed to have been suppressed by a powerful force and he cannot remember what had happened after that!]

Looking at Duanmu Xi who was watching him indifferently from a distance away, the Water Qilin immediately had a bad feeling.

“You are now my contracted beast.”

That one statement said in a highly emotionless tone struck the Water Qilin like a bolt out of nowhere and his head spun dizzily.

The Water Qilin’s face turned ashen.

[Impossible. That is impossible. How could an Ancient Divine Beast like himself be contracted with such trash?]

“You don’t like useless trash? Apologies. You’re also trash as well now.”

That emotionless tone of voice continued to hit the Water Qilin hard, almost killing him.

They were actually linked in mind. [Heavens! Do you have to do this to me?] He had actually reverted back to be at level one, and his body had turned to become the way he was when he had just been born.

[Ugh…..]

His few hundred thousand years’ worth of cultivation, all gone just like that.

What made it worse was that the contract they had formed was a life bond, the highest leveled contract in the Heaven’s Sea Continent. A contract bound by life was one that he would not be able to rescind on and with the level of cultivation of his Mistress currently possess, breaking the contract would kill her.

[Sigh. Since the contract cannot be broken, then there was no other choice but to resign to fate and follow her.]

“Mistress.”

Having accept its fate, the Water Qilin then rubbed its tiny head shamelessly against Duanmu Xi.

When Duanmu Xi saw the Water Qilin acting so adorably like a little puppy, the anger in her heart immediately subsided by half.

Although he had been the one that was responsible for causing Little Shadow to fall into a deep sleep, but they had also made him lose several hundred thousand years’ worth of cultivation as well. They were even on that score.

“Lan Ze. Your name.”

Duanmu Xi bent down and picked up Lan Ze, to stroke his water blue coloured long fur.

“Lan Ze, Lan Ze.” The Water Qilin repeated softly.

“A nice sounding name. Thank you Mistress.”
