Chapter 81.2: Why Is She Not Dead?
Neither was he worried that Mu Wushuang would defy the Imperial Edict he issued, as that would just give him a legitimate reason to have her killed.
But it was quite a pity though. He had wanted to deal with Long Moshen through Mu Wushuang’s hand but it looks like he had no choice but to take her life here instead. It was such a huge amount of gold afterall, which was enough to shake the foundations of the country itself. He had planned to use that money as military funds to take over a small country, so he could not possibly allow the money to fall into Mu Wushuang’s hands.
She can only blame herself for being too greedy, and was seeking for something she should not be coveting.
But had he ever thought that one who opens a gambling den had their own set of rules to adhere to, that losers must admit their loss graciously. If a gambling house cannot afford to lose, then they might as well just shut themselves down. Only people of questionable integrity would think of killing a person so that they would not have to repay money that they owe.

The decree issued by the Emperor did not give Mu Wushuang any time to hesitate in the slightest, to the extent that she was not even able to send anyone to inform the Imperial Uncle at all, but was just allowed to change her clothes before being ushered by the old eunuch who delivered the Imperial Edict straight into the waiting sedan chair.
The sedan chair moved at great speed, as if they were afraid that something unexpected might happen. It was until they were inside the Imperial Palace that Mu Wushuang felt as if the old eunuch and the sedan carriers all then seemed to heave a sigh of relief.
The corners of her lips curled up, to form a scornful smirking arc.
Why are they so afraid? Surely it was only the Imperial Uncle and no one else that could make people in the Imperial Palace so fearful.
“Your servant greets the Grand Teacher!”
Suddenly, the eunuchs turned to the front and bowed in greeting.
A white robed figure stepped out from around the corner of the palace walls. Mu Wushuang raised her eyes to look and saw him, No Name. She smiled silently to herself. His impersonation of the Grand Teacher was really quite well done. At the very least, his mannerisms and demeanor looked exactly the same as the original Yun Zhen, right down to the gaze from his eyes.
“I heard that His Majesty is holding a Grand Floral Banquet today, and this Grand Teacher has specially made the trip here to join in the fun.”
The “Grand Teacher Yun Zhen” declared in a soft gentle voice.
Mu Wushuang winked discreetly at him. Looks like he was sincere in protecting her. Anyway, he still has the two antidote pills in her hands.
The old eunuch’s face looked hesitant for a moment, not knowing how to respond. The Emperor favoured the Grand Teacher greatly and the Grand Teacher had nearly lost half his life because of divination a while ago, so the Emperor gave the Grand Teacher many special privileges. However, it would be disastrous if the Grand Teacher were to join them at the insidious banquet planned today.
“Reporting to the Grand Teacher. The guests invited to attend the Grand Floral Banquet the Emperor is hosting today are all unwed maidens and ladies. As a man, your servant fears that it might not be all that suitable for the Grand Teacher to attend.”
The old eunuch said in a measured tone after a moment’s deliberation.
“Is that so?”
The Grand Teacher’s voice deepened a notch.
The old eunuch’s heart thumped, worried that the Grand Teacher would insist on attending.
Little did he expect that the Grand Teacher’s words would turn around and say: “In that case, this Grand Teacher would not go stand as a thorn among the flowers.”
